Before Saule Technologies' creation, Olga Malinkiewicz received the Photonics21 Student Innovation Award for her work on thin film photovoltaic devices, winning the 1st prize in the prestigious competition organized by the European Technology Platform Photonics21
The work on thin film photovoltaic devices, which earned her victory, was part of Olga’s PhD thesis work at the University of Valencia, ICMOL. The award was handed to Olga by Neelie Kroes, the Vice-President of the European Commission and the EU Commissioner for the Digital Agenda, and the award ceremony took place at the evening reception of the Photonics21 Annual Meeting 2014.
