Piastów is the first city to collaborate with Saule Technologies and Columbus. In September 2020, a letter of intent was signed to initiate the energy transformation program. The project “New City. Multifunctional Center of Piastów” will transform the city area with solar modules – it will introduce renewable energy sources, and gradually increase their share in the energy mix. Piastów will be equipped with the electric means of transport – buses, bikes, and scooters with all the necessary infrastructure supported by solar power. The collaboration will be financed in a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) model, which doesn’t require CAPEX (capital expenditures) and guarantees a stable energy price.
