Saule Technologies remains actively engaged in discussions shaping the future of sustainable energy and economic security. Recently, our Co-founder & CTO, Olga Malinkiewicz, participated in two high-profile events in Brussels.
The European Climate Pact: Together in Action
As part of the European Commission’s flagship event, The European Climate Pact: Together in Action, Saule Technologies joined key stakeholders to discuss accelerating an inclusive transition through innovation. The European Climate Pact, launched in 2020, is a key initiative to engage citizens, businesses, and organizations in climate action across Europe.
During the panel discussion, Olga Malinkiewicz shared her insights on the challenges and opportunities in making the energy transition accessible to all. The discussion, featuring European Commission’s Director-General for Climate Action, Kurt Vandenberghe, highlighted the importance of technological innovation in achieving a climate-neutral and resilient Europe. With the participation of policymakers, activists, and industry leaders, the event reinforced the need for collaborative efforts to drive real change.
Kurt Vandenberghe emphasized the urgency of innovation in achieving Net Zero goals, stating:
“Olga, I’m not surprised that you won the European Inventor Award last year, congratulations for that. (…)Â
There is really a race going on to Net Zero and the solutions for Net Zero. And we need to make sure that we are in that race and that we try at least to have the ambition to win that race. (…)
And that’s where I think also the Climate Pact community can play a role – in telling people, convincing people that perovskite development, production in Europe, is actually a very good investment and we should all do that. And to make the link with circularity, we can produce this new generation of solar panels with perovskite in the way that it is circular by design. Not that we have to invent it afterwards how to make it circular, but by design. (…) We are convinced that the agenda for the next decade is circularity. That is really where we can make the difference and gain a competitive edge. (…)Â
If we continue with the model of mass production of goods, then we will have a hard time to win that global race. If we go to the model of mass customization of goods and services, (…) then we have a very rosy future for Europe ahead and for meeting our climate objectives.”

CSBS 2025: Economic Security from Cleantech to Space
In a rapidly changing global landscape, economic security has become a key concern for businesses and governments alike. Saule Technologies was honored to contribute to this conversation at the Competitiveness & Security Business Summit (CSBS 2025) in Brussels.
Olga Malinkiewicz participated as a panelist in the discussion on “Economic Security: from the ground to cleantech and space.” This panel brought together industry leaders and policymakers to explore the role of clean technologies in ensuring economic resilience and competitiveness.
Discussions focused on the role of innovation in strengthening Europe’s strategic autonomy, particularly in the cleantech and space sectors. The session underscored the need for policies that support cutting-edge technologies like perovskite solar cells to ensure a more sustainable and secure economic future.
